Roy Clark, best known for his prowess on stringed instruments, his jovial personality and his role on the legendary TV show Hee Haw, has died of complications from pneumonia. He was 85.
He once said, “A TV camera goes right through your soul. If you’re a bad person, people pick that up. I’m a firm believer in smiles. I used to believe that everything had to be a belly laugh. But I’ve come to realize that a real sincere smile is mighty powerful.”
Roy was a pioneer of the Branson, Missouri music scene.
A memorial service is planned in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he and his wife Barbara lived.
