Pompano Beach, FL - Two Broward County Sheriff’s deputies were hospitalized on Thursday morning following a violent encounter with an irate individual at a local gas station.
The incident occurred around 9 a.m. at the RaceTrac gas station located at 599 W. Atlantic Boulevard.
Deputies responded to a disturbance call at the location and encountered a man who became aggressive.
According to BSO officials, the man attacked the deputies, resulting in injuries to both.
One deputy sustained a bite injury to their ear.
The suspect was eventually taken into custody but has not been identified, and charges have not been filed at this time.
Both deputies were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident remains under investigation by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.
