Blake Shelton Reflects On Joining The Grand Ole Opry 10 Years Ago

Blake Shelton became a member of the Grand Ole Opry a decade ago as of Friday (October 23). On the 10 year anniversary, the country singer turned to Instagram to reflect on the major career milestone.

"Wow…Hard to believe this was 10 years ago today," he captioned the post. "Feels like just yesterday Trace Adkins was giving me the news every country artist dreams of getting! The biggest honor… Love and miss my @opry fam! Here’s to another 10!"

The post included a video clip featuring actual footage of Shelton being inducted as an Opry member from his longtime friend, Adkins. "This is the biggest thing that’s ever happened to me," Shelton said in the clip, which can be seen here.

Earlier this year, Shelton's girlfriend Gwen Stefani, made her Grand Ole Opry debut when the couple appeared virtually from Ole Red in Tishomingo, Oklahoma for a performance of their No. 1 single, "Nobody But You."

The couple's more recent duet, "Happy Anywhere," was released in July. The song, written by Ross Copperman, Josh Osborne and Matt Jenkins, focuses on how no matter where you are or what the circumstances might be, happiness is possible with the right person by your side.

"I’m running wide open/ I was born with my feet in motion," the couple sings in the chorus. "But since I met you, I swear/ I could be happy anywhere/ Any map dot location/ You’re always my destination/ You’re the only thing that I’m chained to/ I could be happy anywhere/ I could be happy anywhere with you."

In addition to "Nobody But You" and "Happy Anywhere," Shelton and Stefani have also previously collaborated on "Go Ahead and Break My Heart" and "You Make It Feel Like Christmas."
