Keith Urban Lets Loose In 'Never Comin Down' Music Video

A bold single deserves a bold music video. Keith Urban delivered just that for his pop-infused country banger "Never Comin Down's" music video.

The three and half minute video starts with Keith, who is a Lyft driver, dropping off his passenger to a bar. The camera then follows the timid Lyft rider into what a first looked like a quiet spot. However, once the passenger actually enters the bar upstairs, he finds a club-like atmosphere.

As Keith, who is now the bar's entertainer, jams out on his electric guitar, a diverse crowd dances around him. While the passenger seems at first overwhelmed by the party scene he starts to let loose as everyone jams out to the music. Finally, the music and dancing seem to get the best of him and he takes to the dance floor and really starts to "dance baby, dance baby."

Earlier this week, Keith announced "Never Comin Down" as his next single off of his latest album Graffiti U. The song, which he said started with a "tribal rhythmic feel," was written by Keith, Josh Kerr, J Hart [aka James Abrahart], and Shy Carter.

"Those three guys were mixing up some sort of various cocktail environment, figuratively and literally upstairs, and there was just such a great thing happening up there,” Keith said of how the single came to be. “I had this drum beat that I had carried around for a bit, and I presented that, and we started building on that. It really started with a tribal rhythmic feel.”

When it comes to Keith's new rhythmic sound on "Never Comin Down," the country star said he's always enjoyed blurring the genre lines with his music.

"The listener is always going to decide what genre it fits into," Keith told Rolling Stone Country. "I’ve always made music that has felt not as country necessarily, that someone in Nashville may say, 'Oh, this isn't very country,' but everybody else would say, 'That's totally country. What else is it?' It's all relative to where you are, what you're immersed in, and how you define genres as a listener. My goal was to keep capturing my musical heart where it is right now. And it's in motion. So this is musically where I'm at right now."
